Repair and Restoration

In most cases, I can repair wooden and metal furniture as long as the client hasn't run over it with a truck or dropped it off of a rooftop. I also occasionally repair tools and other objects.  Before you throw away a nice piece, let's see if it's worth trying to fix it.

Lessons

If you or someone you know has an interest in learning the basics and fundamentals of blacksmithing, we can work together on a program to suit your needs.  From basic tool setup, fire building and maintenance, drawing out, scroll work, upsetting, hot cutting, learning different types of steel, fuels for forges, hammers, tongs, anvils, and many other subjects associated to the art of blacksmithing and knife making.  Hands-on approach to learning is usually the best, and I encourage students to not be shy, afraid to ask questions or to get their hands dirty while enjoying learning the wonderful, ancient art of blacksmithing.

Custom Design

Working from one or multiple drawings, magazine clippings, blueprints or even drawings on napkins, I can render a design that pleases the client and then forge the project to shape in the smithy.

Motorcycle Tours

While not related to blacksmithing, I also like to give private, exclusive motorcycle tours of the Upper Cumberland specializing in backroads and curves for bike riders wishing to see some of the wonderful scenery in and around these foothills with an abundance of lakes, rivers and streams, old houses and barns, and an assortment of various critters along the way at times.   BYOB.....bring your own bike; experienced riders only.

I was born and raised in Cookeville, and I was also born to ride, so if you want to experience a little of the beauty of our area from a native's perspective, give me a call.  Plan on having a good time.
